The Longtime Sunshine Song

 

One morning after class when we had just finished singing my latest version of "The Sunshine Song," one of my students, after telling me how much she liked the melodies I had written, suggested that I compose ten different versions of the song and put them all on one CD. And so I did. And here they are, dedicated to my student, Melissa.  

 

May the longtime sun shine upon you.

All love surround you.

And the pure light within you,

Guide your way on.

 

The lyrics of this song come from an old Celtic tune. When Yogi Bhajan (Master of Kundalini Yoga) heard this song (as performed by the The Incredible String Band), he instructed his students to sing it at the end of every yoga class they taught.
